Qualifications: Required: Associate’s Degree including related coursework; knowledgeable in standard accounting practices. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree; 1-3 years relevant experience.

JOB FUNCTION: Employees in this classification perform a range of payroll, accounting, and recordkeeping activities for the District. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 1. Performs one or more specific functions as assigned. These functions may include but are not limited to: a. Payroll b. Accounts receivable c. Accounts payable d. Cash receipts e. Audit assistance f. Inventory control g. Bank statements h. Budgeting assistance i. Federal project accounting and budgeting j. Computerized accounting functions k. Journal entries l. Other business office functions 2. Performs all assigned accounting functions according to established standards, including the Michigan School Accounting Manual and federal accounting standards. 3. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. 2. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality 3. Excellent data entry skills 4. Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills 5. Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills 6. Effective organizational, stress and time management skills 7. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines 8.
