SALARY DETAILS:

$94,018 to $107,503 annually / Exempt position / 12-month work year

As this position is grant-funded, continuation is contingent upon grant funds.  

 

WORK LOCATION:

Oakland Schools Main Campus, District and School Services Department

IN THIS ROLE:

You will coordinate and assist in implementing K-12 Literacy systems to ensure Oakland county schools and districts that are identified through the State System of Support (SSOS) are ready to succeed and be successful using school improvement and models contained within the Michigan ESSA plan. As this position is grant-funded, continuation is contingent upon grant funds.

 

WHAT WE NEED:

We are seeking a collaborative team member with strong leadership and communication skills to serve as a literacy coach and provide coaching, leadership, instructional direction, and consulting to SSOS school districts. Your strategic and technical expertise in systemic literacy improvement, curriculum and leadership development, accreditation processes, School Improvement and District Improvement Process, and program evaluations/needs assessments will be key in our efforts to support increased student growth and achievement. You will serve as a resource to Oakland Schools’ staff, local school administrators and staff, government and community agencies, universities, and professional organizations.

 

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Master’s degree in literacy or related field required. Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Valid Teaching Certificate in the area of literacy or related field.
  • Deep K-12 literacy content expertise.
  • Three or more years of related experience including classroom teaching responsibilities. Grades 4-8 experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learners and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience working with diverse schools/districts.
  • Knowledge of systems thinking.
  • Ability to properly utilize tools and equipment necessary in conducting professional development workshops.

 

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

Salary Range of $94,018 to $107,503 annually.
