Qualifications
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Master’s Degree required
• Three years successful teaching experience required
• Middle School experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong sense of mission for serving students and community
• Knowledge of current educational research and practices
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change
• Knowledge and experience with school improvement and school accreditation process
• Working knowledge of computers
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the diversity of students, staff and community

Description
• Coordinates Testing Program
• Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school
• Serves as Activities/Athletic Director for building: coordinates personnel, facilities, and schedule. Hires and evaluates coaches. Plans and facilitates intramurals and activities. Supervises activities and athletic programs.
• Assumes responsibility in the absence of the Principal
• Proposes and assists in schedules of classes and extra-curricular activities
• Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary
• Organizes and assists in supervision of halls, cafeteria, lavatories, gymnasium, etc.
• Assists in supervising after school and evening activities
• Assists Principal in formulating building policy and regulations
• Assumes responsibility for the requisitioning of supplies, textbooks, equipment and conducting inventories
• Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational, related activities, and objectives
• Performs such record keeping functions and paperwork as the Principal may direct
• Assists in the interpretation, communication, and development of school policies
• Assists in the evaluation of personnel
• Assists in the area of curriculum organization and improvement
• Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Principal may assign
• Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals, and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interests with others in the field
